Shrove Tuesday + International Club birthday

Start at: 17:00
End at: 20:00

Raadi manor

On Tuesday, February 9, we invite all international staff and students to celebrate an important Estonian holiday - Shrove Tuesday on the premises of Estonian National Museum in Raadi.

In the past, Shrove Tuesday was related to entertainment and anticipation of spring. People went sledging and danced in the evening. Sledging was important – the longer the slide, the longer the stem of flax would be in the fields during the next summer. Nowadays, we don't worry about flax that much anymore but we still go sledging, make humming tops and eat buns with whipped cream. We want you to experience it as well and also celebrate the 5th birthday of our International Club with us. There will be workshops, games and some traditional foods, and of course the birthday cake!

We will start at 17.00 in Raadi manor, Narva mnt 177. You should take the bus nr 7 from the center (stop Hansakeskus) at 16.34 or 16.51 and get off in stop Jänese. From there it’s a 5-minutes walk to the museum.
Please register by February 5 by sending an e-mail to eda.tursk@emu.ee Kids are welcome, too! The event is free of charge.
