The Estonian University of Life Sciences is starting the development of a new strategic plan.
Rector Ülle Jaakma:
"We live in a rapidly changing world. In a time when the regional economy is in decline, the number of potential students is decreasing, and funding for science and higher education is being cut, we must seriously consider how we can meet society's expectations and ensure the university's growth and success."
Our aim is to gather insights from members of the university community as well as all our partners. Therefore, we will certainly hold several discussions in English to ensure that language does not become a barrier to participation and idea sharing.
A working group consisting of university members will be formed to develop the strategic plan, and we will also involve external strategic consultants. The main directions of the plan need to be articulated by spring 2025. The document is expected to take its final shape approximately a year later, leaving sufficient time for discussion and approval within the university’s decision-making bodies. The new strategic plan for Estonian University of Life Sciences should come into effect at the beginning of 2026, marking the end of the current planning period.
