Mait Klaassen, the rector of EMÜ, and Andrus Kompus, the director of the Vocational Education Centre of Tartu signed an bilateral agreement on November 16, which aims at creating better conditions for the graduates of the Vocational Education Centre to study in the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
Both sides will work together in order to achieve common objectives in the field of academic affairs. According to Priit Pajuste, the head of the EMÜ Department of Academic Affairs, both sides can benefit from a closer relationship. "For example, our students could use the food technology laboratories of the vocational education centre, their students in their turn could use our up-to-date technology labs. The interactive use of infrastructure is an important part of this agreement," Pajuste noted.
The Estonian University of Life Sciences has long been a popular choice for the graduates of the Vocational Education Centre of Tartu - every year more than 40 students start their studies here. The popular specialities have been from the fields of technology, forestry and economics.
