EMÜ engineering students achieved 3rd place in international pneumobile competition

On May 8 to 9, students from Institute of Technology and Technology College took part in the international competition “Pneumobil 2015” for designing and building pneumatic driven vehicles, achieving third place in the category of construction.

Team leader Marten Noorem, a fourth year technotronics student, says that winning the third place exceeded the team’s expectations: “Given that it was the first time for our team to take part in the competition, being placed in the top three of the fifty-four participants is very big thing.” Although most efforts were made to reach a good place in the category of construction, the team also succeeded very well on race track, where they finished tenth.

The event was attended by 54 teams from seven countries – Estonia, participating for the second time, was the farthest country from the venue in Hungary. Estonian University of Life Sciences’ team consisted of engineering students Marten Noorem, Indrek Virro, Kristjan Türk and Timo Mäeots. The project of designing and building the vehicle was supported by the Estonian University of Life Sciences’ Institute of Technology and private companies.
