Admission to international programmes has started

This year, the Estonian University of Life Sciences will host foreign students in five international study programmes: Agri-Food Business Management, Landscape Architecture, Veterinary Medicine, Environmental Governance and Adaptation to Climate Change, Planning and analysis in multifunctional forestry.

The Estonian University of Life Sciences opens a new master level study programme Planning and Analysis in Multifunctional Forestry. Forestry is a very important economic sector, the development of which directly affects the national economy and the well-being of people in many countries. There is a growing need for forest management professionals around the world. The need for analysts in the forestry sector, who can handle large databases, are able to analyse and model data in order to design different future scenarios, has also expanded. In-depth knowledge of mathematical methods and modelling, spatial analysis, inventory of natural values, prediction of dynamics and structure of forest ecosystems and restoration of natural value, forest economics and remote sensing provides a basis for processing large volumes of data, understanding and interpreting results and developing solutions.

The master level study programme Environmental Governance and Adaptation to Climate Change launched last year, proved to be very popular within the candidates. The programme includes close cooperation with the University of Tartu. Unique joint diploma from two outstanding universities will be given to the first graduates upon successful graduation next year. We are looking forward to new great candidates again this year, who are interested in the future of the world and want to have a say in the rapidly changing environment. EGACC is an international programme designed to teach how to resolve social, environmental, and economic challenges the world is facing today. It covers a very broad field of subjects from policies and legislation to information technology and science in the light of various challenges caused by the climatic change.

Also there is a quite new and unique master level programme Agri-Food Business Management where we began admitting students in 2019. The joint study programme was created by three Baltic universities and the studies are also carried out in three different countries - in Estonian University of Life Sciences, in Lithuania at the Agriculture Academy of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) and in Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU). Last summer first 12 students graduated. The programme renders integrated theoretical knowledge and practical skills for understanding the agricultural and food market and managing agricultural and food industry businesses. Studying agri-food business management will give students the opportunity to experience the cultural and business diversity of the three Baltic States.

Since 2013 we offer a master level study programme Landscape Architecture. Landscape Architecture is a discipline that focuses on intervention in the landscape through the activities of planning, design, and management. It is an exciting programme that attracts numerous students every year from Japan to Mexico. The students become professional landscape architects recognized both in Estonia and internationally.

So altogether there are four master level programmes in Estonian University of Life Sciences, the application deadline for non-EU candidates is April 11th and for EU, Georgian and Turkish candidates May 31st.
