Estonian University of Life Sciences received the highest score in accreditation

The assessment council of the Estonian Quality Agency for Education (HAKA) has decided to accredit the Estonian University of Life Sciences for the next seven years.

The international committee that evaluated Estonian University of Life Sciences pointed out several strengths of the university. The committee highlighted the flexibility and systematicity with which the recommendations of the previous institutional accreditation have been implemented - for example, the streamlined structure and updated academic career model. In addition, the practical curricula and the correspondence of the university's research to the needs of Estonian society were highlighted.

The head of HAKA, Heli Mattisen, commented that university's progress in dealing with the bottlenecks of the previous institutional accreditation was so significant that it received special recognition from international experts. This is a very good example of how external feedback triggers intensive and effective development activities at the university.

All higher education institutions operating in Estonia must undergo institutional accreditation at least once every seven years. The evaluation is carried out by an international expert committee, based on the evaluation report, the HAKA higher education evaluation board makes the accreditation decision.
