Welcome, new international students!

For our new international students, the school year starts slightly earlier than for others. Traditionally, the Department of Academic Affairs organises an Orientation Week and this year is no different.

The orientation programme will start on the 29th of August and go on until September 2.

During the orientation week, new students will learn about our study system, about Estonian culture and language, they will visit the Estonian National Museum and will of course get to know our campus and the city of Tartu. One of the highlights of the programme will definitely be our rector Mait Klaassen’s reception at Tartu City Museum.

The largest number of full time degree students are from Finland, followed by Nigeria and Pakistan. We’re very happy to also see 5 Estonians starting their studies in our English-taught Environmental Governance and Adaptation to Climate change joint degree programme with the University of Tartu.

The biggest number of exchange students will come from France, Poland and the Netherlands.

Altogether, we’re expecting about 150 new international students from 31 different countries this autumn. Let’s help them feel at home.
