On January 6, the Estonian University of Life Sciences concluded a competition aimed at recognizing outstanding colleagues working at the university.
This was the fourth annual Colleague Award competition, first introduced in 2021. The competition was conducted in two stages: in the first stage, 48 employees were nominated with detailed justifications according to the guidelines. In the second stage, employees selected the top three nominees through a secret ballot. A total of 337 employees participated in the second round of voting, compared to 386 participants the previous year.
Nominees came from various units and areas of responsibility, affirming that excellent colleagues are found throughout the university. The winners of the 2024 Colleague Award were Ene Jõgi, Vaike Mee, and Aret Vooremäe.
The purpose of the Colleague Award is to acknowledge employees who have stood out during the year as promoters of collaboration between staff and structural units and as upholders and advocates of the university’s values. The university extends its gratitude to all employees—both those who noticed their peers and those who were noticed.
