Ülo Niinemets from Eesti Maaülikool, the Estonian University of Life Sciences together with Spanish colleagues proposes a new hypothesis explaining the movement of biomes (macroecosystems) under globally changing climate.

Students can register until February 14 for the first Baltic Economic Forum that will be held in Riga on March 17 to 19. The event, organized by the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, will give college students from the Baltics a first-of-its-kind opportunity to discuss regional macroeconomic issues with business journalists, economists and executives, and engage in a joint analysis of the opportunities and challenges that the Baltics face as export-driven economies.

On January 14. Piret Bergmann’s (PUSA) art exhibition was opened at the EMU library. You can see about  a dozen rident and colourful paintings.

The Polli Research Centre for Horticulture is responsible for the investigation and preserving of genetic resources of fruit and berry cultivars and selections bred in Estonia.
