Admission requirements
Previous qualification
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a recognized and accredited university. In order to qualify for the studies at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, an applicant has to have at least 60% of the highest possible CGPA (cumulative grade point average) during his/her last studies.
Application fee
The application fee is 100 EUR (non-refundable). The application fee is required to facilitate the admissions process and will not be refunded, regardless of the admission result. The application will be reviewed and receive feedback only after the university has received the application fee. Applicants who have completed previous study level in Estonia or have Estonian or Ukrainian citizenship are exempted from the application fee.

Admission requirements
The mandatory admission requirement is a written test and an oral interview.
The written test will be online, information will be sent to applicants to the email address indicated by the applicant. The applicant has to fill in the written answers to the questions within a given time frame. The written part of the admission test consists of open questions. The written test is in the field of forestry. The admission test measures the candidate's written and oral skills, and knowledge in the forestry-related issues.
In order to qualify for the oral part, the candidate must score at least 50% in the written part.
The interview will be done over video platform BigBlueButton. NB! Please have your passport at hand during the interview and ensure the good internet connection. The time of the interview will be arranged individually by e-mail. During the interview, additional questions about the written test (knowledge about the forestry) will be asked as well as general questions about applicants' academic goals and motivation.
In total, it is possible to collect 10 admission points: 5 points for the written part and 5 points for the interview.
Required documents
The applicants wanting to pursue full-time studies at Master’s level are required to present the following documents:
- Completed application form (in Dream Apply);
- Certified copy of (upper) secondary education certificate and its official translation into English (from non-EU countries). Certified copies are documents bearing the original signature and seal of the authority which certify that these are true copies of the original documents. The documents can be certified by an authorized official of the issuing institution, by a notary, or with an Apostille attached. We do not accept simple copies made on the basis of already certified copies. Please see also our country-specific requirements.
- Certified copy of Bachelor's degree diploma together with the Transcript of Records/Diploma Supplement. Certified translations of documents into English are required if original documents are not in English or Estonian. Certified copies are documents bearing the original signature and seal of the authority which certify that these are true copies of the original documents. The documents can be certified by an authorized official of the issuing institution, by a notary, or with an Apostille attached. - Proof of English language proficiency - applicants are required to be proficient in English at level B2. Please see acceptable tests and exempt categories.
- Copy of the passport page stating the applicant’s personal particulars.
- Confirmation/receipt of application fee payment (if applicable).
Paper copies of documents, incl the printed, dated and signed application form (please don't print out uploaded documents, only the first pages of the application form until the confirmation/signature page; please sign the application form by hand after printing it) should be sent to the following address:

The university has the right to send applicants’ educational documents to the Estonian ENIC/NARIC Centre for evaluation. The function of candidates’ previous qualification(s) (formal access to further study) will be evaluated. For more information, please visit the Estonian ENIC/NARIC Centres’ homepage.
The procedure may take up to 30 days starting from the day that the applicant's paper documents arrive at the university. The evaluation decision is made available to the candidate in the online application system DreamApply. The decision will include a short explanation based on an analysis of the educational system of the country the diploma has been issued in. In the case the evaluation result is negative, the candidate's application will be rejected. If not satisfied with the result of the evaluation, the candidate has the right to appeal the decision. In order to appeal the decision, the applicant shall send a written reasoned appeal along with additional documents to the e-mail address study@emu.ee. The appeal has to be submitted within 7 days starting from the date the decision was published on DreamApply.
Important dates
Deadline for online applications and posting the paper documents
April 10 for non-EU students.
May 31 for the EU/EEA, Switzerland, Georgian, UK and Turkish students.
July 15 is the deadline for late documents of students who applied on time and notified the university about the delay of the documents. Please notice that no new applications are accepted after the deadlines indicated above.
The final decision about admittance will be announced at the latest on:
May 12 for non-EU students.
June 15 for the EU/EEA, Switzerland, Georgian, UK and Turkish students.
Late documents
Applicants graduating in spring/summer and having their diplomas issued later than application deadline (in July, for example) should send their most recent official Transcript of Records by the indicated deadline, along with the rest of the required documents. Please inform our admission service when the diploma will be issued (study@emu.ee).
