British Ambassador visited the EMÜ

On Wednesday, September 18, the British Ambassador Christopher Holtby paid a visit to the Estonian University of Life Sciences where he was shown around our facilities, including the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences where he was also able to see the first transgenic clone calf born in the University.

In addition to research capability, education opportunities for British nationals were also discussed, the now English-language programme in Veterinary Medicine being a good option for recruiting students from both UK and other countries. The ambassador was keen to foster and promote links between the Estonian University of Life Sciences and British companies working in the agricultural field. Such companies are interested in supporting the initial research and development of ideas and they are underrepresented in this region as a whole.
