We’re excited to invite you to a thought-provoking session on collaborative and co-created environmental citizen science (CS) — exploring how citizens can move beyond data collection into initiation, analysis, co-design, and creative methodologies.
While citizen science projects often focus on gathering data, international examples where participants are engaged throughout the project's lifecycle (from co-creating research questions to analysing results) are still relatively rare.
Presentations will feature examples from Finland, Austria, and Ireland, illustrating:
• Benefits of collaborative CS for citizen scientists and other stakeholders
• Role of digital tools in enabling participation and co-creation
• Challenges and opportunities of collaborative approaches — and how to address them
