Centre of Bioeconomy

The mission of the Centre of Bioeconomy (BioMAK) is to initiate and advance interdisciplinary research and development activities in the field of the bioeconomy.

BioMAK Council

In accordance with the statutes of the Centre of Bioeconomy of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (approved by the University Council on 30 March 2017, decision no. 1-4/17; entered into force on 6 April 2017), the BioMAK Council may consist of up to nine members. The objective of the Estonian University of Life Sciences Development Fund is to support the university’s capacity to implement value chain–based and innovative projects in the fields of the circular bioeconomy.

We initiate, coordinate, and develop cooperation in the field of the bioeconomy with universities, research institutions, and companies.

We promote collaboration between science, business, and funding bodies, supporting innovation.

We organise research and development activities, secure additional funding, and contribute to the development of new technologies.

We organise scientific events and participate in international conferences.

We inform the public about research and development activities in the field of the bioeconomy.
