Continuing education

The Open University (OU) operates in the field of lifelong learning.
We are a "window" through which our university can share science to the world.

Continuing education is a goal-oriented and organized learning activity conducted outside of formal degree studies, based on a curriculum. The primary criterion for defining continuing education is the existence of a learning outcomes-based curriculum.

Definition of University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) – in the context of the Estonian University of Life Sciences

University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) at the Estonian University of Life Sciences encompasses purposeful, high-quality continuing education designed to meet the evolving needs of society beyond traditional degree-seeking students. It includes continuing education courses, participation in degree courses through non-formal learning, micro-degree programmes, and learning activities that engage broader communities. ULLL is grounded in the principles of lifelong learning, supports both personal and professional development, and contributes to the advancement of a knowledge-based society.

Participants are issued certificates upon completion of a programme.
