ISLE network

Since the autumn of 2010, the Estonian University of Life Sciences has been a partner in the pan-European cooperation network Innovation in the Teaching of Sustainable Development in Life Sciences in Europe (abbreviated as ISLE, http://www.isle-project.eu/link opens in new page), which also includes approximately 30 different organizations from across Europe, including several well-known agricultural universities.

The aim of the cooperation network is to find ways to better integrate the teaching of sustainable development topics into universities dealing with life sciences, and to better respond to societal expectations in this field.

One of the most recent activities was, for example, a visit to the partner university Harper Adams University College in the United Kingdom, where, among other things, their anaerobic energy production unit was also introduced.

As part of the project, a collection of best practices titled "Sustainable Development in Higher Education in Europe" was created, showcasing various ways to address sustainable development topics in higher education.
