All three landscape architecture study programmes at the Estonian University of Life Sciences have received IFLA Europe recognition for the period 2026–2031. The recognition confirms that landscape architecture education at the University meets high European professional standards.
The recognition follows an evaluation process based on the highest professional standards set out in the IFLA/UNESCO Charter for Landscape Architectural Education and its European appendices.
IFLA Europe, the European Region of the International Federation of Landscape Architects, brings together more than 30 member countries across Europe and promotes high standards in landscape architecture education, professional ethics, research, and public awareness of the profession.
The recognition strengthens the competitiveness of graduates of the Estonian University of Life Sciences and supports their opportunities to work both in Estonia and internationally. It also enhances international partnerships and creates new opportunities for participation in research and educational projects.
The evaluation process also provided valuable recommendations for the further development of the study programmes, including suggestions related to international internship opportunities and the presentation of student work. These recommendations provide new ideas and motivation for the continued development of the programmes.
The Chair of Landscape Architecture is grateful to IFLA Europe and to everyone who contributed to the process. The recognition reflects several years of dedicated work in developing the curricula and preparing the application, as well as the collective efforts and commitment of students, academic staff, employees, and the entire landscape architecture community at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
