Estonian University of Life Sciences to start the new academic year with an opening ceremony on 1 September

Students will be welcomed by Rector Professor Ülle Jaakma, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Professor Endla Reintam, Chair of the Student Union Anette Aavekukk, Deputy Mayor of Tartu Martin Bek, and Külli Kell, a representative of the Board of the university’s Alumni Association.

In keeping with tradition, the top-performing students admitted to first-cycle higher education programmes will receive the university’s traditional student cap. The university chamber choir Camerata Universitatis, conducted by Seidi Mutso, will perform at the ceremony. The ceremony will be followed by information sessions for first-cycle students at the institutes.

The Estonian University of Life Sciences offers degree programmes in areas including environmental protection, circular bioeconomy, food production and processing, animal welfare and health, forestry and wood valorisation, technology and engineering, rural economics, and spatial planning. In addition, the university will offer three English-taught degree programmes in the upcoming academic year.
