Safa Haidherali, a Veterinary Medicine student at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, has built her study journey on an international foundation. Originally from Japan and raised in a multicultural environment, she chose to study abroad to combine strong academic training with practical experience.
Her interest in veterinary medicine comes from a broader passion for science and a desire to work in a field that is both diverse and hands-on.
“Veterinary medicine is a field where you’re constantly learning and solving problems,” Safa says.
At the Estonian University of Life Sciences, she has found a programme that offers both strong academic foundations and early practical experience, exposing students to different areas from clinical work to research and animal production.
Alongside her academic work, Safa values the balance of student life in Tartu. The city’s active student community and close connection to nature have made studying in Estonia a unique experience.
Looking ahead, Safa remains open about her future, seeing her studies as a foundation that can lead to different career paths in veterinary medicine. For prospective students, she highlights the importance of being proactive and open to new experiences.
“Every adventure has its ups and downs, but it helps you grow and build your future,” she says.
