On 5 January, the Estonian University of Life Sciences concluded a competition in the main building of the university to recognise outstanding colleagues working at the university.
The recently completed Colleague Award competition was the fifth of its kind; colleagues were recognised for the first time in 2021.
The competition was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, substantiated nominations in accordance with the statute were submitted for 42 employees. In the second stage, employees selected four nominees who received the highest number of votes through a secret ballot. A total of 312 employees participated in the second-round voting, compared to 337 last year.
Candidates were nominated from various units and areas of responsibility, confirming that there are excellent colleagues all around us. The recipients of the 2025 Colleague Award are Silja Kana, Jürgen Aosaar, Margus Arak, and Veljo Kabin.
The purpose of the Colleague Award is to recognise employees who over the course of the year have stood out as promoters of cooperation between employees and structural units, and as upholders and carriers of the university’s values. The university extends its thanks to all employees—both those who noticed others and those who were recognised. All nominees can be viewed on the internal websitelink opens in new page and, from spring onwards, on the plant wall in Metsamaja.
