Photo gallery: best business ideas have been announced

Today, the final round of the Estonian University of Life Sciences student business idea competition "Emerging Sprout" took place.

A total of nearly 20 business ideas were submitted to the competition held for the tenth time, from which the jury selected 12 finalists. The third place and a €300 scholarship were awarded to the idea "Green Construction," which focuses on the reuse of building materials and tools.

The idea "Prosect" was highly regarded and earned second place. This concept aims to provide animals with insect-based protein feed.

The best idea was declared to be "Forest Therapy Capsule." The winning business idea envisions offering forest experiences through a special capsule, where people can sense forest smells and hear forest sounds.

"Our capsule would be suitable for companies, hospitals, and other places where a unique and pleasant forest atmosphere is desired," commented the winners.

The second-place prize is worth €450, and the first-place prize is worth €600.

The A. Le Coq special prize went to the idea "Old Age Village," the Rural Development Foundation's award was given to "Forest Therapy Capsule," the Salvest prize also went to "Forest Therapy Capsule," and the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce's special prize was awarded to the idea "Prosect." The city of Tartu recognized the idea "Green Construction," and LandCredit honored "Old Age Village."

The jury of the idea competition included Ülle Jaakma, Rector of the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Raimond Tamm, Deputy Mayor of Tartu, Sivar Irval, Chairman of the Board of the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce, Eva Burm, Communications Specialist at the Rural Development Foundation, and Silja Kana, Member of the Board of the Estonian University of Life Sciences’ Joosep Toots Fund.
