Airplane

Tartu–Helsinki Flights
Finnair operates 12 weekly flights between Tartu and Helsinki Airport:

Ferry

Ferries connect Tallinn with Helsinki several times daily (2–3 hours, or 1.5 hours by high-speed ferry) and with Stockholm via overnight routes (approx. 15 hours). Major operators: Tallink, Viking Line, and Eckerö Line. Overnight cruises also offer affordable accommodation options. 

Bus

International and domestic buses provide easy access to Tartu. Lux Express, Ecolines operate regular routes from Tallinn, Riga, and other cities. You can take the bus to Tartu from the Tallinn Airport or Tallinn Coach Station (Lastekodu 46) and the buses reach Tartu Coach Station (Turu 2) in about 2.5 hours. Train

Elron trains run several times daily between Tallinn (Balti Jaam) and Tartu, with a journey time of about 2 hours. The Ülemiste Station, a 15-minute walk from Tallinn Airport, offers a convenient connection. Tickets can be purchased online or onboard.
