Nordplus mobility

The Nordplus education program, established by the Nordic Council of Ministers, aims to promote and strengthen cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic countries in school education, higher education, and adult learning. The program supports mobility, projects, and networks and is designed for educational institutions and lifelong learning organizations.

In higher education, Nordplus provides support for study mobility at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, but not for PhD students.

The Estonian University of Life Sciences is part of the NOVA/BOVA Nordplus network, which brings together the following universities and faculties in the field of agriculture from the Baltic and Nordic countries:

  • University of Helsinki (Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
  • University of Eastern Finland
  • Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
  • Agricultural University of Iceland
  • Estonian University of Life Sciences
  • Vytautas Magnus University (Agriculture Academy)
  • Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies
  • Norwegian University of Life Sciences
  • University of Copenhagen (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences)
  • Aarhus University
  • Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Veterinary Academy)

While the Nordplus scholarship can also be used for mobility outside the NOVA/BOVA network (to institutions in the Nordic and Baltic countries that are not part of the network), most exchanges take place within these universities.

For mobilities:

  • To the Baltic or Nordic countries
  • Lasting less than 2 months
  • Where Erasmus+ funding is not an option (because the host university does not have an Erasmus cooperation agreement)

Examples include:

  • Internships lasting less than 2 months
  • Intensive courses at a NOVA/BOVA network university

Long-term mobility

  • 1–2 months (1 month = 4 weeks) → €250 per month
  • Each additional week → €70 per week

Short-term mobility

  • 1st week → €250
  • 2nd and 3rd week → €100 per week

Travel Grant

  • Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland → €330
  • Latvia, Lithuania → €150
  • Iceland → €660

The Nordplus scholarship is paid out after the mobility period, once the student has submitted a signed confirmation letter and contract to Karoli Kõiv at [email protected].
