Pollen Laboratory

Pollen analysis helps determine the abundance and botanical origin of pollen grains and spores found in the environment. At the Estonian University of Life Sciences Pollen Laboratory, pollen analyses are performed on samples collected from various environments and materials, including sediments, soil, honey, pollen loads and air. The results help researchers study plant flowering and pollination, pollen dispersal, biodiversity, and the effects of environmental and weather conditions on both present-day and past vegetation.

The laboratory’s expertise and analytical capabilities are used in research, teaching and collaborative projects.
