Project Overview

The project is implemented by the University of Tartu, with partners including:

  • Estonian Academy of Arts
  • Estonian University of Life Sciences
  • Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre
  • Estonian Business School
  • Tallinn University of Technology
  • Tallinn University

Doctoral schools are led by the Vice-Rectors of Research of the participating universities.

Eligibility period: 01.09.2023 – 31.08.2029
Total budget: €7 million
No self-financing required

  • All doctoral students of Estonian universities
  • Master’s students (participation in events)
  • Supervisors of doctoral students

Supported Activities

Activity 1: Organizing Events 

Improving the quality of doctoral education through:

  • Thematic conferences and seminars;
  • Courses of academic writing and science popularization;
  • Summer and winter schools;
  • Intensive courses;
  • Doctoral career days;
  • Workshops and lectures with external experts and supervisors;
  • Training sessions, seminars and masterclasses for supervisors;
  • Involvement of external opponents.

NB! Accessibility must be ensured for all target groups and at least two partners involved!

 

Activity 2: Doctoral Mobility

  •  Available only for doctoral students;
  • Short-term mobility (up to 30 days);
  • Funded based on unit costs + participation fee (with supporting documents).

Personnel Costs:

  • Fees for external lecturers, experts and opponents

Event Organization Costs:

  • Venue rental
  • Equipment rental
  • Accommodation and catering
  • Bus rental
  • Materials
  • Ensuring accessibility in both physical and virtual environments

Travel and accommodation costs for external experts and supervisors

Training Costs (Supervisors)

International Doctoral Mobility:

  • Based on unit cost calculations
