Erasmus+ is a European Union program that supports international cooperation in higher education, vocational education, adult education, and general education.
Supported activities:
The Erasmus program includes all European Union countries, as well as Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Türkiye, Serbia, and North Macedonia. Higher education institutions in these countries can apply for funding from the European Commission to participate in the program. The Estonian University of Life Sciences has been part of the Erasmus program since Estonia joined in 1998.
The primary goal of the Erasmus program is student mobility.
The duration of an exchange period is 3 to 12 months, while for internships, the minimum period is 2 months. A student can participate in the Erasmus program for multiple periods within each study cycle, with a total duration of up to 12 months per cycle (following the minimum period requirements). Additionally, graduates can also complete an internship within a year after finishing their studies.
The Erasmus program offers teaching staff the opportunity to teach for a short period at a partner university abroad. In addition, both academic and administrative staff can participate in training programs at foreign universities, companies, or organizations through the program. Information about staff exchanges can be found on the university's internal website.
